The way we teach and learn is always evolving, morphing and improving. At its very core, education is about not staying static. It pushes you to embrace change, seek knowledge and redefine barriers. It supports and motivates you to attain the highest possible contribution levels as a human being.
At the same time, many of our education tools today lag in their ability to assist both teachers and learners. They are poorly designed for ease of use and productivity. They lack reliability and customization. They are often commercialized and struggle to incorporate a continuous feedback loop that delivers constant improvement and innovation. We can do better.
Our vision is to develop a series of applications that are built by Educators for Educators. These applications will look to reimagine teacher/learner interactions. They will look to empower. They will represent simple design, drawing inspiration from the Bauhaus movement. They will optimize for productivity and be constantly refined and updated. Above all, our hope is that they will be evolutionary and continue to help reshape education in the 21st century.
This week at the CREOG & APGO annual meeting we are launching our first application: myTIPreport.
myTIPreport is a modern application developed to help program directors, teachers, fellows, and residents with "real-time, right now" feedback on ACGME Milestones and surgical skills. It allows educators to:
- Update resident/fellow's progress easily and conveniently
- Provide real-time feedback to residents and fellows
- Produce formatted reports for learners
- Access data quickly for ACGME reporting
It is meant to be an experience like no other. We hope you'll love it.
